The Oodle Edit · A life shared
Room for their whole personality.
The happy passenger, the beach companion, the dog who somehow takes up the whole sofa. Care should fit their body as well as their enthusiasm.
The essentials
Groodles, also called Goldendoodles, combine Golden Retriever and Poodle ancestry. Adult size varies substantially. A veterinary-reviewed guide estimates 10–15 years; this is a broad reference, not a prediction for an individual or an Australian lifespan study.
Health conversations worth having
Discuss hip assessment and relevant parent health records with your vet. Difficulty rising, reluctance on stairs or persistent lameness can signal joint problems. Ask about eye and heart screening appropriate to the family lines. Hip evaluation and clinical examinations are different from DNA screening.
Measure the dog you have
Record chest circumference, back length, weight and sleeping footprint. Recheck while growing. Larger dogs may mature later; use the exercise guide before planning sustained running.
Choose your Groodle’s age
Each chapter is written for Groodles, with practical expectations, daily care and changes to discuss with your vet.
