Before you leave
- Check fit and install restraint equipment exactly as directed.
- Pack water, a bowl, waste bags and a familiar resting item.
- Check the destination’s pet access and accommodation arrangements.
- Review vaccination and parasite needs with your vet before travel.
- Plan breaks appropriate to your dog and journey.
A familiar routine away from home
Practise short journeys and calm loading before a long trip. Ask your vet about repeated travel distress or sickness. For an older dog, consider whether access needs a ramp or other support.
